At the 2024 US Olympic Swimming Trials, Katie Ledecky proved once again that she is in a league of her own. The American swimming superstar finished the 1500-meter freestyle final in an impressive 15:37.35, the 19th fastest time in history.
Ledecky, who had won the 200m freestyle final about an hour earlier, dominated the 1500m event from start to finish. She took an early lead and gradually extended her advantage, ultimately winning by over 20 seconds.
Ledecky's victory not only secured her spot on the US Olympic team for the 1500m freestyle but also earned her a quota for the 4x100m relay team. The US team set a new record-breaking audience of 22,209 at the trials.
